Well, technically, I was back from Eastercon on Sunday evening but anyone who has ever been to conventions will know, that, your body takes a little while to shift from Standard Convention TIme to normal time. I think it's something to do with alcohol intake…
Anyway, last weekend was a damn good affair – good chance to meet up with various peeps who you only generally get to meet once or twice a year (at conventions, funnily enough) have a decent curry and drink a fair amount of alcohol (despite those prices…)
Primarily, though, it was a time of dealing (books – in case the Flying Squad are reading) and even though, compared to my first Eastercon in Glasgow, the sales were low (which is ironic since that event was on a smaller scale than Orbital) The Reef still did well (still pinching myself at Christopher Priest and China Mieville both buying a copy…)
I'm all booked up for LX in Bradford next year, and a shout out to a couple of people who I didn't get a chance to say fairwell to: Tony Ballantyne and Eric Brown; obviously Mark and Christian (along with John J); and Ian Whates (who did a roaring trade during the launch – quite remarkable) along with the BSFA/NewCon crowd.
See you all next year – or possible Alt-Fiction/Fantasycon.

Sounds like a good time. I'm glad you moved some copies of The Reef. Surely the class of customer counts for something.

Sounds like you had fun Chris… I hope you told China that buying a copy of The Reef automatically entails that he has to attend FantasyCon this year?
And talking of about The Reef, my local Waterstones has received a copy and it is now patiently waiting for me to rescue it from the murky depths of the reserve shelf.
Hope to see you soon.

Sad to hear sales were slow – is this a result of the current "credit crunch"? It's bound to have an effect on the piblishing industry, even at our level.
